Warlord’s men charged for raping woman in Takhar

TALUQAN (SW): A married woman in Takhar province has charged men associated local warlord Malik Tataar of sexual assault.

The 27-year-old F informed Salam Watandar two armed men associated with Tataar entered her home in the night two days ago, and raped her. She added the men also wanted to rape her 12-year-old daughter, but the girl escaped the cruelty.

The grieving woman said she was thrashed by officials namely Anwar Qazel, Meer, Zaman and Ustad Hafeez when she wished to complain against the sexual assault. F said she could not identify the men who raped her, but a man named Zaman was the one who attempted to rape her minor daughter.

Razm Aara Hawash, head of the directorate of women affairs, acknowledged receiving report about sexual assault and physical abuse against F.

Malik Tataar, commander of the local armed men in Yangi Qala district, has clarified he does not know the men involved in this incident.

In another incident of domestic violence, a man has severely beaten his wife in provincial capital Taluqan before fleeing. The women is said to be under treatment in Kunduz while the man has fled to join the Taliban in the province.
