KABUL (SW): Ministry of Interior has announced that 20 police chiefs and senior officials will be sacked for “negligence” while on duty.
Nusrat Rahimi, spokesperson for the MoI told Salam Watandar that the MoI leadership has taken corrective plans for security. According to him, their reform agenda includes reforms at the level of directorates, system and structure of the ministry. Rahimi added that the reform plan has been implemented every three months and the security officials and police chiefs will be changed and transferred every three months to ensure proper duty and prevent corruption.
Rahimi also informed that based on the order of Wais Ahmad Barmak, the Interior Minister, a delegation has been investigating and monitoring the officials and departments around the country for four months now.
The residents hailed the reform plan of the MoI saying that the security situation will improve if qualified and intelligent people are introduced to the provincial police headquarters.
20 police chiefs have been dismissed after approximately a month ago, the MoI ordered the transfer of the head of police stations in Kabul in order to ensure security for residents.
