WJ charges Pakistan for deceptive politics against Afghanistan

07/04/2018

KABUL (SW): A day after the Pakistani Prime Minister’s visit to Kabul, the Wolesi Jirga (Lower House of Representatives) retorted to the visit.

Shakiba Hashimi labelled Pakistan’s politics deceptive against Afghanistan and called on President Ghani to come up with better policies in this regard.

Shakiba Hashimi said the Pakistani Prime Minister is trying to misuse Afghanistan for Pakistan’s political gain.

Mohammad Sarwar Osmani Farahi, another WJ representative said that to his knowledge, the Durand Line has been tacitly recognized in the meeting between President Ghani and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Nadir Shah Bahr said that Pakistani military shelling on Kunar had been an initiative of the Pakistani military to disrupt talks between Kabul and Islamabad.

WJ representatives called on the government to seriously talk about the Daesh group in addition to Taliban with its Pakistani counterparts and to push Islamabad to fulfil its promises with respect to peace in Afghanistan.

Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, the speaker of the House (WJ), called the cross-border shelling by Pakistani forces a violation of Afghanistan’s territorial integrity and said that such meetings have been held several times between Afghanistan and Pakistani officials in the past but to no avail.

Pakistani PM Khaqan Abbasi arrived in Kabul on Friday on an official visit.
