KABUL (SW): Public school students in Kabul’s Safa Township on Wednesday lodged protest against dearth of teachers, studying material and class rooms.

Atifa Hussaini, one of the protesting students, informed that the Directorate of Education in Kabul separated boys and girls in her school a while ago, but reversed the move recently causing confusions and troubles. She asserted there are no teachers, and students’ whole day is wasted.

Another student said authorities promised to arrange separate classes for girls, but to no avail.

Head teacher of the public school in Safa Township, Masooma, has acknowledged the impedements. She said a protest by the boys led to separation of timings for the students.

Meanwhile, Kabeer Haqmal, director media affairs at the Ministry of Education, has promised to look into the issue.
