KABUL (SW): Humayoun Humayoun, the first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives (Wolesi Jirga), said in the inaugural ceremony of the “coalition of the people of Afghanistan party (CoPA)”, that a number of the National Unity Government officials are corrupt causing divide among the people of Afghanistan.

Humayoun Humayoun, who was one of the supporters of the president Ashraf Ghani in the past presidential election, expressed regret saying that he had supported President Ashraf Ghani for a legitimate government, which didn’t transpire.

‘Those who are currently ruling Afghanistan, even their children have not seen Afghanistan yet’, Humayoun Humayoun said to his supporters.

Naeem Lalai Hamidzai, a member of WJ called for a transparent election in his speech during this inaugural ceremony. Hamidzai said that by forming this new party, they do not want to suppress the government but to reform its structure and bring transparency.

Referring to Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the leader of Hezb-e Islami, Hamidzai said that some people are speaking on behalf of other countries and some are seeking to cause division among the people of Afghanistan for their own political gains.

‘The government is not owned by four or five people, who will do whatever they desire’, Hamidzai added.

Zahir Qadir, another member of WJ said to his supporters in this inaugural ceremony that after he has seen some people in the cabinet of President Ghani, he has realized that the government is going to a different direction which is not in the interest of the country, hence he has formed a team against the elite.

‘I had supported President Ashraf Ghani in his campaign, however, President Ghani abused the votes of the people’, Zahir Qadir told his supporters.

He proclaimed that CoPA party have decided on its nominees for provincial councils and also for the presidential candidate and will soon announce the names.

The inaugural ceremony of CoPA was held in Kabul and dozens of residents of southern provinces including Kandahar and Khost provinces were among the participants.
