KABUL (SW): Parents of students of the Afghan-Turk schools said that handing over a non-governmental organization to another government, without any legal basis, is completely contrary to the Afghan government’s accepted laws.
This is the second time they protested against handing over of the Afghan-Turk schools to the Turkish government, and chanted slogans against the leaders of the governments of Turkey and Afghanistan.
The administration of Afghan-Turk schools was handed over to the Turkish government yesterday. The decision was taken by a commission composed of representatives from Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, National Security Council, and National Directorate of Security.
A member of the Association of Parents of Afghan-Turk schools’ students told Salam Watandar that if the demands of the parents, students, teachers and staff of the Afghan-Turk schools are not met, they will officially file a complaint with judicial authorities.
Turkish Education Minister Esmat Yalmaz said yesterday that after the transfer of Afghan-Turkish schools administration to the Turkish government, the quality of education at these schools would improve and more such schools will be opened.
The families of the students have pledged to continue their protest demonstrations until their demands are met.
