KABUL (SW): It is a common trend in Kabul that couples gripped by domestic disputes seek to resolve the issues within family rather than consulting professional advice.
Psychologists believe keeping the domestic issues hidden for long rather than speaking about resolving them often leads to further complications in affairs. The family affairs consultants are slowly and gradually getting popular in Afghanistan. However, many people are unaware about it since most of the domestic issues erupt and are resolved within the boundaries of the home.
Abdul Majeed and Syed Hameedullah, two such Kabul residents, confessed they have never approached a family consultant ever for the resolution of a problem.
Naimatullah Shadab is one of some psychologists practicing in Kabul. He runs a family consultancy organization ‘Life is Beautiful’. Shadab said people with psychological disorders refer to them, but not many couple approach them for the resolution of family affairs.
Abdul Aziz Najafi, founding manager of the ‘Hope Again” family affairs consultancy organization, said that the general public’s level of knowledge and understanding in this regard is very low that is resulting in more and more conflicts remaining unresolved.
