KABUL (SW): Officials at the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) said the strategy of the ministry that has been laid out about the country’s mines was approved at the meeting of High Economic Council (HEC). According to them, this strategy focuses on contracts and mining.
Abdul Qadir Mustafa, spokesperson for the MoMP, today (Wednesday) said at a news conference in Kabul that the HEC has approved the strategy of MoMP yesterday.
According to the spokesperson of MoMP, the strategy emphasizes the transparency of mining contracts and ensures mining contracts are placed for bidding in a transparent manner.
Mr. Mustafa added that the issue of mines, investment opportunities, and marketing have also been included in this strategy.
The 24 contracts for industrial mines which are used in construction will be signed soon and the comments and suggestions of the civil society organizations and experts will also be included in the new strategy of the ministry, spokesperson for MoMP further added.
The Mine Strategy is designed as a strategic document for the optimal use of mines and for the benefit of citizens from the proceeds, and if successfully implemented, the revenues of the country will rise.
