KABUL (SW): Nargis Nehan, Acting Minister for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, on Tuesday signed a contract for the mining of salt in the Ghorian district of Herat province with a private company.
According to Nargis Nehan, 2000 jobs will be created with the start of mining, and the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum will receive more than 26 million AFN annually from this mining contract.
The Acting Minister said that on the basis of the contract, more than 400,000 USD will be invested by the contracting company in the Ghorian Salt Mine, and more than 70,000 USD will be allocated to the provision of social services.
Basir Ahmad, a representative of the contracting company, said that the firm will begin the mining operations in line with the mining laws, and will fulfill all their obligations.
