PUL-E-KHOMRI (SW): An eight years old girl who a few days back was given away by clerics and tribal elders to settle a dispute in Nahrin district, has been gang-raped.
Dr. Mohammad Osman Shirzai, Head of Civil Society Network in the province, told reporters on Friday that 15 days ago this girl was given away to settle a dispute in Nahrin district.
Security Officials and as well as Women’s Affairs Department in the province have not confirmed the news yet but one of the sources at the Public Health Department in Baghlan, who didn’t wish to be named told Salam Watandar that the young girl has been gang raped.
Members at the Civil Society Network in the province urged upon security officials and human rights institutions to seriously consider this case and arrest the perpetrators behind this despicable incident as soon as possible.
