CHAGCHARAN (SW): The pro-Daesh rebels in Ghor province have abducted eight civilians on Saturday.
10 days ago, the militants killed 30 civilians here that was vehemently condemned by the people, the government and international institutions. Following the incident, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, leading a delegation, paid a visit to the province. Despite the President’s assurances for improved security, the militants managed to kidnap 8 civilians.
Abdul Hai Khatibi, the spokesperson for the governor, told Salam Watandar that a militant group led by their commander Rahmatullah, has abducted 8 civilians while they were travelling from northern part of the province to the center.
Khatibi stated that one of the 8 kidnapped persons managed to escape but another man who wished to flee has been wounded by the rebels. The spokesperson for the governor added that the Daesh militants have also stolen 500 sheeps from a herd.
Khatibi noted that efforts to release the kidnapped persons are underway.
Civilians’ killing by Daesh militants in Ghor province was followed public reaction. The dead bodies of the victims were collectively buried in Kasi area near to a highway.
