TALOQAN (SW): Local authorities in Takhar province have said the Taliban have shot seven policemen dead in Charsi-Ha area between Khawaja Baha-u-Din and Darqad districts.
Sanatullah Timor, provincial governor’s spokesman, told Salam Watandar that on Monday the Taliban besieged a security outpost in the province between Khawaja Baha-u-Din and Darqad districts. He added late night the militants managed to overrun the outpost killing 7 policemen. “Additional security forces have been dispatch to the area”, informed Timor.
He further added a number of Taliban insurgents have also died in exchange of fire, but he did not give exact figures. The Taliban have acknowledged 8 of thier fighters were killed in this attack.
