TALUQAN (SW) – Official sources in Takhar province claim at least seven children got killed and eight others got wounded as a mortar shell exploded in a religious school on Thursday.
Khalel Aser, spokesman for the police headquarters, told Salam Watandar the incident took place in Ishkmish district at around 11:30 a.m. He said the seminary students were moving the explosives from one place to another when it exploded.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for this deadly incident.
Ishmish is a remote district in Takhar situated at a distance of some 120 km from capital city, Taluqan.
