KABUL (SW): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has established several fact finding commissions to investigate into the tragic incidents which have taken place across the country but the results of the commissions have never been tangible.
A source close to Arg who did not wish to be named, told Salam Watandar that President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has so far established 61 fact finding commissions to probe into different incidents.
A number of civil activists said that the National Unity Government (NUG) establishes such commissions to hide the truth and mislead the citizens.
Omar Ahmad Parwani, one of the civil activists, said that the government’s lack of attention to the findings of the commissions as well as appointing members who are close to the government at the commissions, have created gap between the government and the citizens.
He said that those who are selected as members of the commissions are not trustworthy and people do not trust these members to share with them their findings.
Shah Hussain Murtazawi, deputy spokesman for the president, however told Salam Watandar that the government has always established a commission comprised of experienced members to probe into the incidents.
The brief fall of Kunduz to the militants, Farkhunda’s murder by an angry mob, suicide attacks on police cadets, Kabul Bank scandal, and Pakistani chopper crashing in Logar are all the incidents that the president established fact finding commissions to probe into them.
Out of all these commissions, the only fact finding commission which has shared its 20 pages findings has been the commission which was established to investigate into the brief fall of kunduz to the militants.
