PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW) – Well-placed sources informed Salam Watandar up to 38 soldiers and eight local policemen got killed the in Taliban assaults on check posts in Baghlan province.
The source informed the rebels stormed a military base and a check post in the Alaudin area of the Baghlan-e-Markazi district, and eventually took away all arms, ammunition and resources after hours of clashes.
In the meantime, Asadullah Shahbaz, former chairman of the provincial council, has confirmed the assault. He confirmed more than 40 security personnel got killed in this attack, and the rebels also took away all resources afterwards.
Earlier this week, nine soldiers and seven policemen were killed in a similar attack on check posts in the district. The rebels aslo took away a number of soldiers with them back then.
