KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Public Health officials said on Wednesday that at least 4000 traffic accidents took place in the country during the past six months alone.
Mamosi Zewar, deputy minister at the MoPH, said this at a moot to mark the Road Safety Week here. She said road accidents remain a serious issue for the health ministry, and there is dire need for public awareness in this regard.
The deputy minister said these accidents claimed at least 322 lives besides injuring at least 20,000 people. According to the MoPH officials, such road accidents caused more human losses in the country than terrorist attacks.
