JALALABAD (SW): A well-placed official source has told Salam Watandar that the Pakistani forces have fired at least 36 mortar shells from across the Durand Line into Nangarhar’s Momand Dara district.
The source informed these mortar shells hit the Shoray area of the district leaving two civilians injured.
Attaullah Khogyani, the spokesman for the provincial governor, has acknowledged the shelling. He, however, rejected reports about civilian casualties.
This is not the first incident of the sort. Pakistani forces have been firing mortar shells on various villages situated close to the Durand Line for years now. The two governments have so far failed to reach a deal on matters related to border management.
