LASHKARGAH (SW): The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) on Sunday freed up to 30 people from the captivity of the Taliban in Helmand province.
Abdul Qadeer Bahadorzay, spokesman for the 215-Maiwand Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA), informed Salam Watandar that all these people freed from the Taliban prison are civilians. On reports about some of these men being security personnel, the ANA spokesman said identity of ten people is not clear yet.
The Taliban have acknowledged reports about the men being freed form their custody. They, however, claimed the men were kept captive on charges of different crimes. The Taliban have claimed the U.S. forces also took in this operation.
