KABUL (SW): Government forces pronounced the western parts of Kabul clear on Tuesday morning as all three attackers aiming at the residence of a former provincial governor were finally shot dead.
Abdul Rehman Rahimi, Kabul Police Chief told journalists the militants’ attack the residence of Mohammad Naeem Baloch, former Helmand Governor Monday evening around 8 pm local time. He said seven security personnel got wounded and all three attackers got killed in this attack.
The militants on the other hand claimed to have inflicted heavy damage in the attack, which according to them was aimed at the intelligence agency NDS’s office at the Aalauddin intersection in Kabul. “Tens of NDS agents, police and troops were killed”, the Taliban claimed in a message.
Separately, the NDS has nabbed a would-be suicide attacker in Kabul belonging to the notorious Haqqani network. The spy agency said the attacker wished to aim the 8th District of Police in the city.
