3 men killed for allegedly supporting Daesh

KUNDUZ CITY (SW): The Taliban in Kunduz had abducted 23 people for having alleged ties with the Deash 4 days ago, three of them have been shot dead, officials said on Sunday.

Nasiruddin Sayedi, chief of Dast-i-Archi district, talking to Salam Watandar said the Taliban had taken away these men from Mullah Qoli area of the district for allegedly having ties with the Deash. “The rest of the men are still with the Taliban”, informed Sayedi.

Amruddin Wali, head of Kunduz’s provincial council, said there are rumors that the Daesh is recruiting men in the province, but so far the government has not taken any steps to eliminate Deash here. “Taliban beheaded one of the hostages on Sunday. The identity of men taken by the Taliban are yet to be known”, added Wali.

Although, local authorities are silent about the identity of these men, the local residents have said the men abducted by the Taliban are former Taliban militants.

One of the residents of Dasht-i-Archi on conditions of anonymity told Salam Watandar that the man killed by the militants was named Abdul Azim Ayubi, and he was a former Taliban commander in the local Daftani Bazar of the district. 20th Division of the Afghan National Army (ANA) has announced in a message that the two other men who were shot dead by the Taliban, are related to a former Taliban shadow district chief in Dasht-i-Archi.

The Taliban have refrained from acknowledging or rejecting this report.
