KABUL (SW) – The findings of the Civilian Protection Advocacy Group indicate the capital city, Kabul, witnessed utmost of the civilian casualties in the country last month.
Based on the statistics, a total of 278 civilians casualties were confirmed in this while due to some 40 incidents in 15 provinces of the country. A total of 184 civilians, including women and children, lost their lives and 94 others got injured.
Based on these figures, 55 civilians were killed and 30 others injured in Kabul alone.
The attack which targeted the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Public Work in the capital was the deadliest one in which 47 people including seven women were killed and 27 others including 11 women got injured. All the victims of this attack were civilians and civil servants.
The CPAG has urged the UN and the US to put pressure on the combating parties not to harm civilians. At the same, the advocacy group demanded from the rebel groups not to target areas that could possibly endanger the lives of civilians.
The CPAG consists of 20 different Civil Society Organizations. Based on the CPAG report for November 2018, 213 civilians were killed and 212 others got injured.
