PUL-I-ALAM (SW) – The National Disasters Management Authority officials in Logar distributed food aid to 2500 families on Saturday.
Matiullah Ahmadzai, head of the NDMA in Logar, said the aid was sponsored by the Embassy of China in Afghanistan. The aid package included some 350 tons of wheat, rice and other basic material. He said the aid would be distributed among the residents of Pul-e-Alam and six other districts displaced by war and natural disasters.
The Internally Displaced Persons have welcomed this timely distribution of aid in the province. They, however, feared this one-time aid is not enough to address their longstanding concerns.
This comes as an estimated 3000 IDP families are on the run due to raging war and natural disasters here.
