
KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing Affairs (MoUDA) has inked a deal worth $ 6.5 million with a Korean firm to provide clean drinking water for the residents of the capital.
Authorities at the MoUDH are confident that with the implementation of this project, some 24 thousand families in the western part of the capital would be supplied with clean drinking water by the year 2019.
Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, the Minister said on the occasion that the project consists of 4 deep water wells and a water supply system. He said the project will be implemented in PD 13 in the west of Kabul. Nadari lamented that only 28 percent of Kabul residents have access to clean drinking water.
Chand Yung, representative of the government of South Korea said that his government is committed to support Afghanistan. He said soon this project would be duplicated in other provinces of Afghanistan as well.
