GHOR (SW) – Since the start of academic sessions in universities after the lockdown, at least 23 students in Ghor have contracted coronavirus.
Juma Gul Yaqobi, Ghor's director of health, said that out of 63 samples taken from students suspected of having the coronavirus, 23 tested positive. The students, aged 18 to 25, have been quarantined. Yaqobi said they have supervised the institution several times since the beginning of their classes and shared health advice with students.
Sayed Shir Agha Hashemi, the head of Ghor University, said in this regard that although the students followed the health tips, they somehow got infected.
Health officials in the province once again urged all residents of the province to follow health advice to avoid getting infected.
According to Ghor Health Department officials, 528 people have been infected with the virus since the outbreak of the coronavirus in the province, of which 11 have died.
The number of people infected with the corona virus in the country has reached 38,641.
