KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Water and Power in collaboration with the Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat on Sunday launched the 2000MW Solar Energy project.
Addressing the presser in this connection, officials said this project would help provide 400MW each to Kabul, Kandahar, Balkh and Nangarhar provinces.
Mohammad Gul Khilmi, minister for the MoWP, said the project would be completed in four to five years’ time. He added more than forty firms have expressed interest in investing in this mega project.
The World Bank, Asian Development Bank and a number of other international financial institutions have also shown interest in support this project, he added. The officials said efforts are underway to secure more fundamental support for this renewable energy project.
