KABUL (SW): Security officials informed of arresting more than 200 young suspects at Kabul-Parwan Highway.
The officials said that the young suspects were captured and their belongings such as coins, ID cards and nearly afn 500 to 700 were confiscated.
The officials added that the busted suspects were likely to carry out terrorist activities in the northern provinces.
Gen. Mohammad Zaman Mamozai, the Police Chief in Parwan province, told Salam Watandar that the young suspects have been arrested at three separate check-ins. The suspected individuals wanted to get to the northern provinces by public buses, Mamozai said. He added that the suspects didn’t even know their surroundings and routes.
Mamozai further said that during the interrogation it was revealed that they had tickets booked for Kunduz but the suspects kept saying that they were heading to Mazar-e-Sharif.
Security officials said that a probe is underway to reveal the suspects’ identities. Taliban have recently increased their activities in the northern provinces.
The brief fall of Kunduz to the militants last year, still taunts residents in the northern provinces and the fear has grown since the militants have increased their activities.
The militants announced the start of their spring offensives no more than two weeks ago.
Security officials said that the militants would use all their resources in the fight against security forces in the current year.
