TALUQAN (SW): A married woman has reportedly been gang raped in a remote village of Farkhar district of Takhar province.
According to the 20-year-old woman, she got into contact with a man named Jamshed on mobile phone to find solace from her ‘troubled married life’. “One day, I wanted to call my uncle when accidently I dialed a wrong number ending up talking to a stranger” she said while explaining how it all started.
She admitted building relationship with Jamshed, but charged him and his two friends Anwar and Haroon for repeatedly raping her. “I was kept at a hiding, and drugged while repeatedly gang raped by them”, she alleged. According to the testimony of the victim, she was eventually dropped near the vicinity of the provincial directorate of women affairs.
Sanatullah Timur, provincial governor’s spokesman, has confirmed the incident. He assured investigation has been launched by the authorities. A source told Salam Watandar based on the condition of anonymity that the police are also involved in the rape case.
Salam Watandar tried to have comments from the police in Takhar, but to no avail.
