KABUL (SW): As many as 20 public sector officers, including a director, have been suspended over charges of misuse of authority.
Authorities at the Attorney General Office (AGO) have said head of the Directate of Huquq (rights) and 16 other employees of this directorate along with 3 Pashtany Bank staffs have been suspended for misuse of authority.
Jamshed Rasooli, AGO spokesman, told Salam Watandar the cases of these employees are under prosecution at the anti-corruption directorate of the AGO. He said 3 employees of the Pashtany Bank are also charged for corruption. AGO spokesman did not elaborate if it would undermine the investigation of the prosecutors at this early stage of investigation.
AGO authorities stressed on combating corruption as criminal offence.
