CHIGHCHIRAN (SW): Residents in 15 villages of Lal-o-Sar Jangal district in Ghor province do not have access to public health services.
Many in Garm Aab area of Lal-o-Sar Jangal district in Ghor province have complaint about lack of facilities in the public health center of the district. The complainants have said lack of doctors and medicine in these villages have been forcing them to take patients to the Feroz Koh, the center of the district for treatment.
The complainants have blamed the local authorities for lack of proper administration. “We have raised the issues several times to the local authorities, but so far no action has been taken”, informed some of the residents.
Abdul Hamid Natiqi, member of Lal-o-Sar Jangal district council, also complained in the council meeting about the lack of health services. He said most of the doctors and medics are not present on their duty. “Appointment of the doctors based on nepotism has caused the problems at the health center in the district”, claimed Natiqi.
The member of district council warned that if the local authorities do not respond to the problems, the locals would boycott their authority.
But, Ghulam Nabi Yagana, director of provincial public health, denied of having any knowledge about the matter. “We will review this matter. In case there were any problems we will solve them”, promised Yagana.
