HERAT CITY (SW): A court in western Herat province sentenced 13 convicts to death over charges of murder, drug trafficking and abduction on Sunday.
Shoib Ebrahimi, Head of the court in the provincial capital Herat city, told journalists that the offenders have been proven guilty in kidnapping 11 residents out of whom they killed 3 and released 5 in return for money. He said the fate of the rest was not known yet.
Ebrahimi added that homes of the 7 kidnappers, which were used as places to keep the kidnapped people, would be given to the families of the victims.
The families of the victims urged upon the government to execute the accused criminals publicly.
