KABUL (SW): A group of civil society activists has grilled the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) members for allegedly striking behind the door deals with the ministers of security sector.

In a symbolic voting, the demonstrators casted vote of no confidence against 120 members of the house. This comes as the Defense Minister Gen. Abdullah Habibi, Minister for Interior Taj Mohammad Jahed, and Chief of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) Mohammad Masoum Stanikzai were summoned by the house over surging terrorist attacks in the country. However, all of them managed to earn the confidence of the majority of the parliamentarians.

The protestors who gathered in front of the parliament building on Wednesday, stressed that the MPs should have stripped the ministers of their authorities for failing to stop the terrorist attacks from recurring.

Haroon Motarif, an organizer of the demo, questioned the dragging of the impeachment issue by the WJ. The protestors, in particular, expressed their discontent towards the security officials for failing to stop the brazen militant attack on the Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan hospital. Sifatullah Zwak, another participant of the rally, said the MPs have sold their votes.

In a resolution issued at the end of the demonstration, the protestors urged the government to swiftly hold the due parliamentary elections without any further delay.
