PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW): A special unit of the Afghan Special Forces (ASF) has managed to liberate up to 120 besieged security personnel in northern Baghlan province.
Gen. Hameed Gul Hameed, a member of the 209-Shaheen Corps told Salam Watandar that an operation was conducted by the ASF in Baghlan’s Mangha district. He added that in this operation, which was conducted on Friday evening, ten Taliban militants including a commander Mawlawi Qadeer have been killed and eleven more have been wounded.
He confirmed that four members of the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) have sustained wounds in the operation. The besieged members of the ANSF were kept captive for the past 20 days during which four lost their lives and 16 more sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, locals officials in Baghlan claimed to have cleansed five villages from the rebels on Friday. Abdul Rasheed Bashir, head of provincial police department has said that the cleansing has been done the Baghlan Central district. As per his knowledge, six militants have been killed and eleven more wounded in this operation.
