KABUL (SW): Naseer Ahmad Durrani, Minister for Rural Development and Reconstruction, on Tuesday inked 12 development contracts with private firms for the reconstruction of roads in rural areas.
These contracts are worth AFN 521 million, and would be executed in Samangan, Parwan, Faryab, Nangarhar, Ghor, Kabul, Kapisa, Kandahar and Jawzjan provinces.
These projects are aimed at constructing 36 kilometers of roads constructed and more than 30 kilometers of roads reconstructed in these nine provinces. The officials hope these projects would help improve connectivity for some 221 villages, increase access to health services and promote rural economy in the countryside.
The minister said on the occasion these projects would also create jobs for some 265, 000 individuals in these parts of the country.
