MAIMANA (SW) – At least 12 civilians got killed following a security operation in the Garzivan area of Faryab province.
Governor of Garzivan, Faizullah Rehmani, told Salam Watandar the incident took place when the security forces were busy in an operation against the Taliban insurgents in the area.
He said the deceased belong to two families.
According to the member of provincial council, Sibghatullah Sailab, these 12 civilians were innocent.
