KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Information and Culture on Tuesday marked the 100th anniversary of formation of the Provisional Government of India established in Kabul, Afghanistan on December 1, 1915 by Indian nationalists.
Addressing the gathering, Abdul Bari Jahani, Minister for Information and Culture said Afghanistan wants peace and neighboring countries like India and Pakistan should help in this regard.
To mark the day, the MoIC have organized a two-day workshop that features a number of historians from Afghanistan, Pakistan and India presented their studies over the subject.
During the British colonial rule over India, the Provisional Government of India established in Kabul to enrol support from the Afghan Emir as well as Russia, China, and Japan for the Indian Movement for independence.
Addressing the workshop, Amar sinha, the Indian Ambassador in Afghanistan said his country holds Afghanistan as a close and old friend. Abrar Hussain, the Pakistani Ambassador in Kabul said on the occasion that the regional countries should united against their combined enemy.
Akram Khpalwak, Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs said in his speech that blaming each other would not help the region. He said Afghanistan and Pakistan are engaged in an unannounced war that is damaging both countries.
He urged upon Pakistan to stop supporting the militants.
