KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Women Affairs (MoWA) has noted that up to 10 convicts of violence against women have been sentenced to death in the past year.
Spogmay Wardak, deputy minister, said this in connection with the evaluation of the MoWA’s performance in the past year. She added a total of 4291 cases of violence were registered in the past year, and the MoWA managed to pursue 1059 of them.
Zarghona Mohammadi, head of the tribunal for cases of violence against women, announced that such special tribunals would be set-up across the country.
