KABUL (SW) – The Independent Election Commission has concluded transfer of biometric votes to the central data server, an official said on Wednesday.
Raheema Zarifi, a commissioner at the IEC, told a presser that 1,932,673 biometric votes have been logged-in to the central data server. She said the commission is now striving to compile preliminary results and deliberate about the lost devices for the biometric verification.
She said the legitimate and void votes would be separated in the central server in coming three days.
The IEC commissioner added that the findings by a commission led by Aurangzaib and Mawlana Abdullah would share its findings into the incident of broken locks at the central date server room.
In the meanwhile, election observers have called for transparency in the sorting out process.
The Stability and Partnership team’s Yonus Nauandesh has stressed this process should not be hastily concluded. The State Builders’ Dawood Sultanzoy has said the commission should share with the public the final and clean results.
The IEC sought apology from public few days back over delay in announcement of preliminary results.
